Hello.

I am an urban scholar who studies housing, policing, race, class, and punishment in U.S. cities. I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Geography at Colgate University. In 2022 I graduated from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with my PhD in Geography, where I was supervised by Don Mitchell and Jamie Winders. I also have an MA in Geography and Masters in Public Administration from the Maxwell School. I’m experienced in qualitative research methods ranging from ethnography to archival research to participatory mapping. In 2021 I was named an Emerging Scholar by the H.F. Guggenheim Foundation. I’ve previously worked as a policy analyst in Chicago and with a prison education program in Central Illinois and am a member of the Unequal Cities Network. When I don’t have my nose buried in a book, I’m probably out walking my rescue dog, Maya.
